Ghost

Ghost is a Swedish rock band formed in Linköping in 2006. The band is known for its theatrical stage presence, blending hard rock, heavy metal, and progressive rock with elements of pop and satanic imagery. Tobias Forge, the band's founder, is the primary songwriter and performer, taking on the persona of Papa Emeritus, the band's lead "ghoul" figure, who has evolved through several incarnations. Ghost's music is characterized by its melodic hooks, retro sound, and dark, often occult-themed lyrics. They gained significant attention with their debut album Opus Eponymous (2010), which led to a string of successful releases such as Meliora (2015) and Prequelle (2018). Ghost's unique combination of infectious melodies and theatrical performances earned them a large and dedicated fanbase. They have won several awards, including Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance, solidifying their position in modern rock and metal.
