Deftones

Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California, in 1988. Known for their unique blend of heavy metal, shoegaze, and post-hardcore, their music often combines atmospheric, melodic elements with intense, heavy riffs. The band's lineup includes Chino Moreno (vocals, guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), Chi Cheng (bass, until his death in 2013), and Sergio Vega (bass, following Cheng's passing). Their critically acclaimed albums, such as Around the Fur (1997) and White Pony (2000), helped define the nu-metal movement while pushing the genre in more experimental directions. Deftones' sound is known for its emotional depth, blending beauty with aggression, and they continue to influence modern metal and alternative music.
